Innovative Cable Proof 4K ONE
Innovative Production Services has made a significant leap into the broadcast industry with their latest investment in a purpose-built broadcast truck, ‘4K ONE’. This 4K standard truck is designed to operate audio, switch cameras, record, and handle multimedia all in one location. The complexity and technical demands of this truck required a robust data cabling infrastructure from the outset to support all the hardware within the truck and interface with venue in-house patching.
To meet these needs, Innovative engaged Beyond Network Solutions and chose Siemon Cat6A data cabling and fibre optic systems, known for their reliability and performance. The truck features over 3km of copper cabling in a 15m long space, ensuring it can handle the demanding environment it operates in. The cabling infrastructure has been meticulously installed and tested, with the Beyond team handling cabling pathways (Cat6A, fibre, SDI), all communications cabling (documentation, installation, termination, and testing), and the supply of networking, routing, and 5G communication hardware.
From the very beginning, Jeremy and Brendan, the founders of Innovative, have upheld the philosophy that a cable should never fail on a job. This principle was crucial in the construction of the Hybrid Broadcast Truck, 4K ONE. The directors themselves crafted each cable to such a high standard that, on-site, if something went wrong, checking a cable would be the last thing to do.
